I was lucky enough to be selected to be a part of the leadership team that helped bring Share Fair to Bridgewater College in November 2014. Share Fair is a free two-part event that brings together educators, students, communities and leaders in education to experience innovative methods to transform education and thrust schools into the 21st Century. The all-day event, which focuses on science, technology, engineering and math, includes classroom intensives for k-12 teachers and STEMosphere , a hands-on, minds-on expo open to the public. The classroom intensives help show teachers ways to infuse STEM components into their classrooms. The STEMosphere includes dozens of learning stations, such as a flight simulator, KEVA planks, and Anatomy in Clay.

Many of my literacy students volunteered at the event and helped to make it a huge success. Over 200 teachers and 1500 members of the public participated Share Fair Nation at BC this fall. We will be hosting the event again in October 2015, and the leadership team is already hard at work to make it even bigger and better!
