A few weeks ago, I organized and hosted an alumni speaker event for Bridgewater TEP candidates titled, “What’s It Really Like?: A Conversation With Student Teachers and First-Year Teachers.” Nine speakers came back to BC on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:00 pm to share their experiences and answer questions for candidates preparing to student teach within one year. The speakers shared great advice and valuable insights.

The attendees really appreciated hearing straight talk from new teachers on the front lines, who were just recently BC students themselves. I received a lot of positive feedback and hope to make this an annual event.
